The Puducherry Assembly has been convened on Wednesday for the oath-taking of newly elected legislators.
Pro-tem Speaker A. Anbalagan would administer the oath to legislators, including Chief Minister N. Rangasamy and two Ministers who were sworn-in on May 13 after the National Democratic Alliance retained power in the 2026 Assembly elections.
Assembly Secretary J. Dayalane, meanwhile, has issued a release announcing the Assembly Secretariat’s decision to accept the resignation of Mr. Rangasamy from Thattanchavady constituency.
Mr. Rangasamy had contested from Thattanchavady and Mangalam constituency. After winning both, the Chief Minister had resigned from the Thattanchavady seat, while retaining the Mangalam constituency. He had submitted the resignation letter to Mr. Dayalane on May 17.
