A local holiday has been declared for Tiruchi district on May 14 in view of the Chithirai car festival of Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple in Srirangam.
All State government offices and educational institutions will remain closed on the day. However, the holiday will not be applicable for examinations scheduled for the day, Collector V. Saravanan said in a press release. May 23 will be a working day in the district in lieu of the local holiday, he added.
