Tiruchi district secured the fifth rank in the State by recording a pass percentage of 97.50 in the Plus Two public examinations, while the district also emerged with the third-highest pass percentage at 96.55% among government schools, according to the State Board public examination results released on Friday.
As many as 30,157 students out of the 30,930 who had appeared cleared the exams, putting the pass percentage at 97.50. Out of 106 government schools in the district, only 35 managed to achieve cent per cent results.
The district’s pass percentage in Plus Two exams has improved compared to the previous years. The district registered a pass percentage of 95.83 in 2025, securing 12th rank, and 95.74 in 2024, with 13th rank in the State.
Over 91% of the students who had appeared for the Plus Two examinations have passed in the central districts.
Karur
Out of 10,024 students who wrote the examination in Karur district, 9,643 students emerged victorious. Of them, 4,427 students were boys, and 5,216 were girls. The pass percentage stood at 96.20, thereby positioning the district at 15th place in the State. The district positioned at 30th place in 2024-25.
The pass percentage of boys and girls stood at 94.88 and 97.35. A total of 35 schools registered 100% pass percentage. Of them, 7 were government schools.
Pudukottai
In Plus Two exams, 17,917 out of the 18,687 students cleared them with a pass percentage of 95.88. Of the 178 schools, 68 achieved a 100 per cent pass percentage in the district.
Perambalur
As many as 6,812 out of 7,206 students came out successful, recording a pass percentage of 94.53%. About six government schools, two government-aided schools and 18 self-financing institutions secured 100 per cent.
Nagapattinam
Nagapattinam district registered a pass per cent of 94.38, with 6,703 out of the 7,102 students who had appeared for the exams having cleared them.
Mayiladuthurai
As many as 9,618 students out of the 10,286 who had appeared for the exams cleared them with a pass percentage of 93.51 in Plus Two exams. Last year, the district’s pass percentage was 93.25.
Ariyalur
Ariyalur district has registered a pass percentage of 91.70 in the recently held Plus Two examinations. A total of 8,577 students from 92 schools appeared for the examination. Of them, 4,304 were boys, and 4,273 were girls. Of them, 7,865 candidates passed.
A total of 4,781 students, 2,536 boys and 2,245 girls, belonging to 56 government schools, appeared for the exam. Out of them, 2,142 boys and 2,048 girls, 4,190 passed. The pass percentage stands at 87.64. The government aided higher secondary schools registered a pass percentage of 96.58.
T. Rikshitha of Gokilambal Higher Secondary School emerged as one of the top performers at the State level. She secured 598 marks out of 600. She scored centum in Physics, Chemistry and Biology and 99 each in Tamil and English.
A total of 65 students belonging to two Government Adi Dravidar Welfare Higher Secondary Schools wrote the exam. Out of them, 56 students passed. The pass percentage is 86.15.
Thanjavur
More than 90 percent of students in Thanjavur and Tiruvarur districts have cleared the Plus Two public examinations.
According to official sources, a total of 25,944 students appeared for the examinations in Thanjavur district and 12,896 in Tiruvarur district. Out of this, 25,215 students have cleared the examinations in Thanjavur district and 11,735 in Tiruvarur district. Thus, the Thanjavur district pass percentage stood at 97.19 per cent and that of Tiruvarur district at 91 per cent, sources said.
While 81 out of the 229 higher secondary schools functioning in Thanjavur district achieved 100 per cent pass percentage, in Tiruvarur, 28 out of 130 institutions achieved this distinction.
