The Career Guidance and Counselling Centre at the District Collectorate started functioning on Friday immediately after the Plus Two public examination results were declared.

Inaugurating the Centre, District Collector R. Sukumar said the students should make use of the ‘Career Guidance and Counselling Centre’ established at the Collectorate for guiding the students about their higher education by calling 95003 24417 / 95005 24417.

A headmaster, a teacher, a professor of a college and a psychologist will man this Centre. Besides guiding the students in joining the right course based on the interest of the individual students, they will also counsel the students to address their psychological issues and guide the callers on getting education loans.

“Moreover, we’ve also created help desks at Government Engineering College, Tirunelveli, Anna University Regional Office, Tirunelveli and Rani Anna Government College for Women to help the students in filling-up the application for counselling of engineering courses and uploading the filled-in applications online. Hence, the students should make use of it,” Dr. Sukumar said.
