The Telangana Government Doctors Association (TGGDA) has urged the State to implement clear guidelines for exempting differently-abled employees and employees caring for children with intellectual disabilities from the ongoing transfer process.
In a press release issued on Tuesday, the association referred to a Finance Department circular dated May 8, which clarified that the recently lifted ban on transfers for government employees would not apply to categories covered under G.O. 34. The circular stated that employees protected under the GO would continue to remain exempt from routine transfers and postings even during the current transfer window.
According to G.O. 34 issued by the Department for Women, Children, Disabled and Senior Citizens Welfare on August 7, 2025, employees with 70% or more disability are exempt from the rotational transfer policy. The exemption also applies to government employees who are parents of children with intellectual disability and employees acting as caregivers for dependent relatives with 70% or more specified disability.
The TGGDA demanded that the government formulate detailed guidelines regarding the submission, verification and approval of disability certificates required for availing the exemptions. It also sought expert supervision in the verification process.
The association further requested the government to introduce a dedicated provision in the online transfer application portal to allow employees covered under G.O.34 to upload disability-related certificates and supporting documents without difficulty.
