RAPRA Kids Club (RKC), an initiative by Raja Annamalai Puram Residents Association (RAPRA) has gone on steam.
RKC is not a summer club; nor a hobby club. It is a free initiative envisioned by Dr. Chandrasekharan to instil moral values, life skills and social awareness in children, says a RAPRA press release.
The club aims to shape confident, responsible and empathetic young citizens through fun and real-world activities. A vibrant team of teachers, storytellers, artists, counsellors, civic & environmental experts and together with a few RAPRA EC members are RKC mentors who power the sessions, the release adds.
The club meets every fortnight, on a Saturday evening, offering regular engagement while ensuring it is not another school-like experience, but rather a space where children explore lessons and values rarely taught in classrooms.
The first session on April 25, 2026 began with a traditional Villu Paattu by the mentors heralding the inauguration of RKC and introducing themselves.
An understanding of the world around them and psycho-social health are imparted to them through special observances. The May theme highlights gratitude to mother, as Mother’s Day falls in the month. With Earth Day in April, the theme for that month was greenery and energy conservation.
Children are encouraged to express themselves through art, music and storytelling. The sessions are designed to make children speak out, share ideas, and grow socially aware. RKC is not just a club—it is a movement to nurture future changemakers. The club aims to sow seeds of values, creativity and civic responsibility in young minds.
