As many as 118 missing people, including 31 children, have been reunited with their families in south-west Delhi in February under ‘Operation Milap’, the police said on Tuesday.

In the first two months of this year, 193 missing people, including 59 minors and 134 adults, were traced, they said. “Coordinated efforts across police stations in the district helped in the swift recovery of missing people,” said Amit Goel, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South West).

Teams conducted local inquiries, scanned CCTV footage, and circulated photographs at auto and e-rickshaw stands, bus terminals and railway stations. Drivers, conductors and vendors were questioned to track possible movements while local informers were activated.

Records of nearby police stations and hospitals were also examined to gather leads during the operation. Among individual police stations, Vasant Vihar traced nine missing persons, R.K. Puram police station recovered one minor boy and six adults, and the South Campus police station traced two minor girls and one male adult. Vasant Kunj North and South police stations located seven minor children and 13 adults, the police said.
