In a key administrative move following the gazette notification of the new railway zone, B.S.K. Rajkumar, an officer of the Indian Railway Service of Engineers (IRSE), 1989 batch has been appointed as the first Principal Chief Engineer of the Visakhapatnam-headquartered South Coast Railway (SCoR).
According to an official release on Thursday, Rajkumar previously served as the Additional General Manager of the East Coast Railway (ECoR) in Bhubaneswar. He is a gold medalist in Civil Engineering from Andhra University and holds a Post Graduate degree in Management from IIM Mumbai.
During his 35 years service, he has worked in various capacities across the South Central Railway, North Eastern Railway, and ECoR. His expertise lies in management of critical railway assets such as tracks, bridges, and buildings.
Furthermore, he brings extensive experience in planning, execution, and commissioning of various new lines, as well as doubling and tripling projects. He previously served as the Chief Bridge Engineer and Principal Chief Engineer in the ECoR, the release added.
