The Kavoor police arrested Irshad alias Irsah, 26, of Mukkacherry, Ullal, for alleged drug peddling, and recovered 3.138 kg of cannabis on Wednesday.
In a press note, the police said, on a tip off, a team led by Assistant Commissioner of Police (North) Srikanth apprehended Irshad on Wednesday, near the Mary Hill Helipad. He was found transporting cannabis to some persons. The police seized 3.138 kg of cannabis worth Rs. 1.56 lakh, a mobile phone, a scooter and few other articles from Irshad. A case was registered against Irshad in Kavoor Police Station for offences under Sections 8(c), 20 (b)(ii)(B) of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
He is accused in case of attempt to murder of 2019 registered in Ullal Police Station and also in a case of 2024, under provisions of NDPS Act, in Mangaluru Coastal Security Police station, the police said.
