PRADA, a century-old Italian fashion house, will include leather artisans from Athani in Belagavi district in its skill training programme for introducing a new line of Kolhapuri Chappals.
This is part of an arrangement by the luxury fashion brand with the governments of Karnataka and Maharashtra that it will help conserve the Kolhapuri Chappal heritage in the two States and develop it further by showcasing it in international markets.
