A selection process was held at the Government Polytechnic College, Visakhapatnam, on Tuesday, where 25 students were selected for an industrial training programme in aerospace engineering.

The programme is being organised by Learning Links Foundation with support from the CSR funds of Boeing. A total of 71 students participated in the selection process.

Of the selected candidates, 20 were from the Government Polytechnic College, Visakhapatnam, and five were from the Government Polytechnic College, Pendurthi. Six women students were among those selected.

The selected students will undergo specialised industrial training in aerospace engineering at the MSME Technology Centre.

Deputy Director of Higher Education Dr. M.A.V. Ramakrishna, who attended the programme as chief guest, said that 182 students have completed the training in six batches so far.

College principal Dr. K.V. Ramana, Learning Links Foundation senior manager K. Ratna Sekhar Reddy, training and placement officer Dr. M. Narayana, and mechanical department staff members N. Ravikanth and Poornachari supervised the selection process and guided the students.

Organisers said that the training would help students acquire industry-related skills that will improve their employment opportunities.
