With conservancy workers having been deployed for election-related work, garbage accummulated on roadsides in several peri-urban and rural areas of Coimbatore district.
Sulur, Malumichampatti, Thadagam, Neelambur, Periyanaickenpalayam, Irugur, Idigarai and Vellalore, where regular door-to-door collection was disrupted, saw garbage piling up along internal roads, near bus stops and in small market stretches, with bins overflowing in some locations.
