CPI(M) state secretary P. Shanmugam on Monday said his party accepted the people’s verdict of electing Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) as the single largest party in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections 2026.
In a statement, Mr. Shanmugam said the CPI(M) had aligned with the DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance (SPA) “to prevent the BJP from using the AIADMK” to come to power in Tamil Nadu. “It is commendable that the people have rejected the BJP,” he said.
