The Annamayya district administration has embarked on a major mission to transform Horsley Hills, aiming to improve facilities and cleanliness at the scenic hill station before the next tourist season begins.

During a review meeting with district heads of various departments here on Saturday, Joint Collector Shiv Narayan Sharma instructed them to speed up pending works and ensure its completion on time. Sub-Collector (Madanapalle) Challa Kalyani and officials from Tourism, Electricity, Revenue, Rural Development, and Roads and Buildings departments were present at the meeting.

The Joint Collector said that Horsley Hills, famous for its pleasant climate and greenery, has been drawing large numbers of visitors over the years. However, the growing tourist rush has also increased pressure on sanitation and maintenance, prompting the administration to prioritise improvement works.

Officials discussed upgrading roads, parks, public toilets, drinking water facilities, streetlights, and tourist viewpoints across the hill station. The meeting also focused on improving cleanliness around the crowded Gali Banda area by placing additional dustbins and installing signboards to discourage plastic waste.

Mr. Shiv Narayan highlighted that tourism development should not affect the natural surroundings of the hill station. Officials were told to work together to ensure eco-friendly measures are followed while improving visitor facilities.
