Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will formally launch the State-wide disbursement of the Kharif instalment of Rythu Bharosa (Investment support) funds at a public meeting to be held in Chintakani mandal of Khammam district on June 30.

The public meeting will mark the commencement of crediting the Kharif instalment of Rythu Bharosa funds into the accounts of farmers across the State.

Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Monday inspected the proposed venues for the Chief Minister’s forthcoming public meeting in Chintakani mandal of Madhira Assembly Constituency, a predominantly agrarian segment represented by him.

Addressing the key Congress functionaries at a preparatory meeting held at Jagannadhapuram crossroads, Mr. Vikramarka said the Chief Minister would release the Rythu Bharosa funds to farmers across the State during the public meeting scheduled for June 30. All State ministers will attend the historic event, he added.

The meeting will demonstrate the Congress government’s unwavering commitment to farmers’ welfare and its farmer-centric policies aimed at increasing farmers’ income, he noted.

He called upon the party cadres to make the massive public meeting, expected to draw nearly two lakh people, a grand success.

Later, addressing a meeting of the Mahila Congress Committee in Khammam, Mr. Vikramarka said the Congress government was working tirelessly for the economic empowerment of women.

A target has been set to provide loans worth ₹1 lakh crore to DWCRA women self-help groups over a period of five years. Interest-free loans worth ₹67,000 crore have already been distributed in just two-and-a-half years, he said, adding that the loan limit had been increased from ₹5 lakh to ₹10 lakh.

He highlighted the women’s empowerment initiatives, including the Mahalakshmi scheme.

“Not only we have provided free bus travel for women but also enabled women SHGs to purchase RTC buses and become their owners,” he said.

He added that women were being encouraged to operate petrol bunks, Mahila Shakti canteens and 2,000 MW solar power generation units to help them grow as entrepreneurs.

State Mahila Congress president E. Swarna and others were present.
