The Telangana Police has constituted a dedicated technology team to accelerate the adoption of Artificial Intelligence and advanced technologies in policing across the State.

According to Director General of Police C.V. Anand, officers were directed to extensively adopt AI-driven technologies to strengthen crime investigation, law and order management and policing efficiency.

The decision was taken during a review meeting attended by DGP (Technical Services) V.V. Srinivasa Rao, senior officers and technical personnel following the formation of the tech team in the DGP’s office.

During the meeting, the DGP stressed the need to bring all major police technology platforms, including the Telangana Police website, Hawkeye, CCTNS and HRMS, under a unified framework to streamline operations through the DGP’s office.

The DGP also proposed the creation of a dedicated AI Task Force in the DGP’s office to monitor and supervise AI-related projects undertaken by the department.

The DGP instructed officers to prepare a joint action plan for implementation of AI-based systems, including CCTNS 2.0 and data-driven dashboards. He also directed integration of all offices under the DGP establishment with the e-Office system for streamlined monitoring and file movement tracking.

To ensure timely execution of the projects, a five-member IPS officers’ core team was constituted with a target of completing key AI-based initiatives within six months.

Hyderabad Joint Commissioner of Police N. Shweta was assigned responsibilities related to CCTNS 2.0, HRMS monitoring and coordination with the CID. DIG R. Bhaskaran was tasked with AI integration into the CCTNS project.

DCP (SM and IT) Chennuri Rupesh will oversee social media, video analytics and AI-based drone initiatives, while SP K. Apoorva Rao will supervise data intelligence, training programmes and system design. IPS officer Avinash Mohanty will monitor traffic and road safety modules.
