Following the announcement of Class XII public examination results in Tamil Nadu, the Coimbatore branch of the Southern India Regional Council of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has urged students and parents to consider Chartered Accountancy as a career option.
CA Survajith S. Krishnan, chairman of the ICAI Coimbatore branch, said the profession now offered opportunities in areas such as Artificial Intelligence, data analytics, global taxation, financial consulting, insolvency and sustainability reporting, apart from accounting and auditing.
He said students completing Class XII could directly pursue the CA course and build careers in practice, industry, banking, consulting and entrepreneurship.
Mr. Krishnan said the ICAI Coimbatore branch had been conducting career awareness programmes, counselling sessions and mentorship initiatives for students and parents.
He also announced that Coimbatore had been selected as one of the 21 centres to host the ICAI Convocation 2026 on May 23. Newly qualified Chartered Accountants would receive Certificates of Membership and Certificates of Practice during the convocation, he said.
