New District Superintendent of Polices (SPs) were appointed in Salem and Namakkal districts.

The State government transferred 56 IPS officers on Monday (June 16, 2026). Accordingly, Salem SP Gautam Goyal was transferred and posted as Virudhunagar District SP. The Deputy Commissioner of T. Nagar in Greater Chennai police, S. Kuthalingam, was posted as Salem SP. 

Salem City South Deputy Commissioner, Kelkar Subramanya Balachandra was transferred to Nagapattinam District. The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption SP of Chennai Range, P. Mahendran, was posted in Salem City South.

Namakkal district SP S. Vimala was transferred as the SP of the Economic Offences Wing headquarters in Chennai. Tiruppur district SP Yadav Girish Ashok was posted in Namakkal.
