District Collector R. Sukumar inaugurated the Aadhaar Seva Kendra (ASK) near Rose Mahal behind District Science centre in Kokkirakulam on Thursday.
This is the sixth ASK to established in Tamil Nadu as Chennai, Madurai, Krishnagiri, Vellore and Villupuram already have this facility, which is being operated by UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India).
The public can avail a range of services, including new Aadhaar enrolment, biometric updates like refreshing fingerprints, iris scan, photographs etc., demographic updates like changing or correcting the name, address, date of birth, gender, mobile number, e-mail ID etc., mandatory biometric updates for children when they attain the ages of 5 and 15, updating proof of identity, proof of address documents etc. at this ASK.
The physically challenged-friendly ASK will be functioning all seven days of a week between 9.30 a.m. and 5.30 p.m. The centre follows online appointment management system though walk-in appointments are also accepted. Online appointments can be made via https://bookappointment.uidai.gov.in/
UIDAI Regional Deputy Director, Bengaluru, Priya Srikumar, Deputy Manager Chaitanya and Managers M.S. Gunasekaran and M. Kaliyarasan were present.
