A first-of-its-kind module on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership philosophy has been added to the sociology syllabus of the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, one of western India’s oldest public universities.
The module, titled ‘Modi Tattva’, forms part of a paper on the ‘Sociology of Patriotism’, under the university’s BA and MA programmes in Sociology. It will be taught alongside content on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and historical figures including Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Sayajirao Gaekwad III, the reformist Maratha ruler after whom the university is named.
