The Thanjavur District Police have made an appeal to the public not to circulate/subscribe to false news before verifying the genuineness of such issues/developments.
In an official release on Thursday, the police have pointed out that a report appeared in a section of media and social media platforms that a police constable was injured after he was attacked by the “cadres of TVK” (Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam) on the night of May 23.
Terming the news as false and fabricated, the police requested the public not to post or repost such news or reports on social media without verifying their authenticity and urged the media to desist from carrying/airing such false news/reports.
