The Department of Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare has suspended Assistant Professor D. Mouli Naik and laboratory technician K. V. Subrahmanyam following a preliminary inquiry into allegations of sexual harassment of a student at Dr. Nori Ramasastry Government Ayurvedic Medical College in Vijayawada.

College Principal K. Nirmala Jyothibai and Professor K. Vijayakumari have also been removed from their current positions for failing to act on complaints received from students and have been placed at the disposal of the government, AYUSH In-charge Commissioner Ronanki Gopalakrishna said in a press statement on Saturday, adding that further inquiry into the case is under way.
