Mahesh Tenginakai, Hubballi-Dharwad Central MLA, has said that the Pradhan Mantri Vikasit Bharat Rojgar Yojna (PM- VBRY) had been launched by the Union government to encourage first-time employees and employers to boost formal job creation.

Speaking at the PM-VBRY outreach programme organised by the Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) at Deshpande Foundation auditorium in Hubballi on Friday, Mr. Tenginakai said that under the scheme, incentives to the tune of ₹2,400 crore were being released across the country.

The Hubballi event was part of the national event aimed at distributing benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rojgar Yojana (PM-VBRY) under which Prime Minister Narendra Modi disbursed incentives to over 15 lakh beneficiaries. As part of a nationwide outreach effort, regional programmes were organised simultaneously at 200 locations across the country.

Regional Provident Fund Commissioner Ashutosh said that the scheme launched on August 15, 2025, would be in force till July 31, 2027. The target was to create 3.5 crore jobs during the period, and so far 1.92 crore jobs had been created, he said.

Under the scheme, new employees, either government or private, who register their names with the EPFO for the first time, would get ₹15,000 in two instalments in the first year. Apart from this, the company in which the person is employed would get a subsidy of ₹3,000 per month for four years, he explained.

Over 300 participants, including 221 beneficiaries, 30 employers, industry association representatives, public representatives, senior State government officials, and EPFO officers and staff, attended the Hubballi event. During the event, 17 employment letters were distributed by various employers, including the Deshpande Foundation, RNS Motors, VRL Group, and others, to newly employed candidates.

Hubballi-Dharwad Deputy Commissioner Snehal R., Mayor Jyoti Patil, Director of Hubballi Airport Rupesh Kumar, KCCI president G.K. Adappagoudar, Honorary Secretary Uday Revankar and others were present.
