Devotees from far and near gathered at Tallakulam early on Monday morning to witness Lord Kallazhagar on ‘Poo Pallakku’ as the deity began his return journey to Alagarkoil.
Special pujas and rituals were performed to Lord Kallazhagar at the Ramanathapuram Mannar Sethupathi Mandapam in Tallakulam. The deity, mounted on a palanquin bedecked with flowers, proceeded at around 2.30 a.m.. The devotees followed the deity.
A rousing welcome was given to Lord Kallazhagar by the devotees at Karuppanasamy Temple and Prasanna Venkatachalapathy Temple in Tallakulam and the mandagapadis enroute. Earlier, the deity halted at over 500 mandagapadis in the city for Ethir Sevai.
