Electric vehicle (EV) giant Tesla has expressed interest to establish a sales and service centre in Hyderabad. At a meeting held with Telangana’s IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu on Friday (May 22, 2026), the company’s India representatives evinced interest to roll out the sales here.
So far, Tesla has four sales showrooms in the country. The Minister expressed happiness that it has come forward to set up the next centre in the city.
Mr. Sridhar Babu said that Tesla is not merely an EV car manufacturer, but a company which has introduced innovations in EV softwares, semiconductors, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and battery technologies. He said that the State’s ecosystem is suitable for its long term technology goals.
He congratulated Tesla’s India general manager Sharad Agarwal, and lead Public Policy & Business Development director Rajat for selecting the city for the company’s sales and service centre.
