The NEET 2026 re-examination is officially scheduled for Sunday (June 21, 2026) from 2:00 p.m. to 5:15 p.m.. Following the recent cancellation due to paper leak allegations, the National Testing Agency (NTA) is enforcing ultra-strict security measures to guarantee exam integrity.

Here is a definitive NEET exam day checklist, including dress code, entry timings and mandatory documents to bring to the exam centre.

Important Instructions for Candidates:

All candidates who are appearing for the NEET UG 2026 re-examination are required to carry relevant documents and follow specific guidelines to maintain the sanctity of the examination process. Candidates must bring a printed copy of their admit card, one original valid photo ID, and two passport-sized photographs for attaching to the attendance sheet.

What is allowed?

All candidates are allowed to bring transparent water bottles into the examination hall. They may also carry their admit cards in transparent plastic pouches to protect them from rain damage. Candidates are permitted to wear faith-based articles or symbols (such as religious symbols, kalawas, turbans, hijabs, or similar items), but must report to the examination centre early to ensure thorough security checks by the exam staff. While lightweight clothing is encouraged, candidates may wear full-sleeve or woollen garments if necessary, provided they arrive at the center in advance for proper frisking.

What is not allowed?

1. Electronic Gadgets

- Mobile phones, Bluetooth headsets, earbuds, and microphones

- Smartwatches and fitness trackers

- Calculators and pagers

- Cameras

2. Stationery Supplies

- Personal writing instruments such as pens and pencils, along with various stationery items like pencil cases and notepads

- Logarithmic tables and reference books

3. Personal Belongings

- Wallets, sunglasses (goggles), handbags, belts, and hats

4. Jewelry

- All forms of metallic jewelry including gold ornaments, earrings, necklaces, bangles, and rings

5. Food Items

- Bottled water, tea, coffee, snacks, and candies are not permitted

Changes in Exam Timings

Candidates are required to arrive at their examination centre between 11:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.. Entry gates will close promptly at 1:30 p.m., and no candidate will be allowed entry after this time under any circumstances. Candidates with disabilities (PwD/PwBD) who qualify for compensatory time will be permitted to complete the examination until 6:20 p.m..

It is advised by the NTA that Candidates wearing traditional or religious clothing, as well as those opting for full sleeves or warm clothing, should arrive early to allow for adequate security checks.

This year, the exam structure has been modified; the exam duration has been increased by 15 minutes, giving candidates a total of 195 minutes (3 hours and 15 minutes) to finish their exam. Moreover, the number of pages provided for rough work has doubled from two to four, and these pages are conveniently located at both the start and the end of the question paper for easy access.

Multiple State governments are offering free travel on designated buses to candidates who present their admit cards.

Important Security Measures

In light of earlier cheating allegations linked to the use of various messaging applications, the government has temporarily banned the messaging app Telegram across India for one week, effective until June 22, 2026. This decision was made in response to organised cheating activities that have been reported to exploit communication platforms during the examination.
