The State Human Rights Commission has directed the government to issue guidelines incorporating the recommendations submitted by the Police Special Branch so that the medical officers assigned to VIP duties can work without undue stress, the chairperson of SHRC, Alexander Thomas, has said
SHRC gave the directive to the department of General Administration (Political) of the Health department. The order was issued following a complaint filed by the Kerala Government Medical Officers’ Association (KGMOA) seeking an end to the alleged human rights violations faced by medical officers whenever they are assigned to VIP medical teams.
