A two-day international symposium on precision antibiotic therapy in the era of antimicrobial resistance began at the Dr. Rajendra Auditorium of JSS College of Pharmacy in Mysuru on Friday.
Titled ‘JSS TDM 1.0: Precision Antibiotic Therapy in the Era of Antimicrobial Resistance’,the symposium is sponsored by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation. The event also marked the virtual inauguration of the Therapeutic Drug Monitoring (TDM) Centre at JSS Hospital.
Jian Lynn, clinical pharmacist from the Ministry of Health, Malaysia, was the chief guest. Prashant Vishwanath, dean of Research, JSS AHER, and Narayanappa D., principal of JSS Medical College, were the guests of honour.
R.S. Savitha, associate professor, Department of Pharmacy Practice, along with organising chairman T.M. Pramod Kumar and convener B.M. Gurupadayya, were present on the occasion. Akila Prashanth, professor, Department of Biochemistry, was also present.
The symposium will continue till Saturday with expert sessions on LC-MS innovations, genomic profiling, and real-time dose optimisation.
