Dr. TMA Pai Hospital, Udupi, will commence operations from its new, upgraded facility at National Highway 66, near Swagatha Gopura, Kadekar from June 1, 2026, according to Shashikiran Umakanth, Medical Superintendent of the hospital.
Addressing presspersons in Udupi on Thursday, Dr. Umakanth said the hospital will also allow public visits from May 22 to 24, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Established in 1984, the hospital is relocating to a spacious and modern campus after over four decades.
Spread across 1.4 acres, the new 152-bed hospital has been designed with advanced infrastructure, modern medical technology, and patient-friendly amenities to strengthen healthcare services in the region, he said.
Major highlights of the new hospital include a 24×7 Emergency & Trauma Care Centre, four modular operation theatres with advanced laparoscopic systems, expanded 25-bed ICU facilities, advanced dialysis support, CT scan, Ultrasound, X-Ray, laboratory and pharmacy services, dedicated health check facilities, day care services, and ample parking space.
He said that the new facility has been specially designed with a strong focus on emergency and critical care services, particularly to ensure rapid response during emergencies along National Highway 66.
