Minister for Forest, Environment and Ecology Eshwar Khandre released a trek guide handbook prepared as per the standard operating procedure by the Forest Department at a programme at Kadri Park here on Sunday.
The handbook contains a QR code. If the QR code is scanned, it reveals details regarding trekking paths. It also contains dos and don’ts during trekking. The handbook also has details on first aid, on how to handle trekkers, and information on wildlife. The handbook is aimed at empowering guides as professionals.
The Minister also distributed first aid kits to guides on the occasion.
Mr. Khandre also launched a camper vehicle meant for safari in the Shola forests of the Kudremukh Wildlife Division. The vehicle is meant for tourists.
