AI Adoption Survey

QS I-GAUGE has launched an AI Adoption Survey for Educators, to assess educators’ perceptions of AI, their current usage patterns, and readiness to adopt AI in professional roles.

IIM Lucknow invites applications to its B.Sc. Artificial Intelligence and Business Analytics programme, beginning on August 18. Students will have the option to transition to the Tech-MBA programme (scheduled to commence in 2027–28) after completing their third year, and convert their studies into an integrated dual-degree programme.

Eligibility: 10+2 with Physics Chemistry and Maths as main subjects and qualification in JEE Advanced.

Lotus Petal Foundation has launched Teach Live, an interactive online remedial learning programme for students in Classes 3–8 from underserved communities. Currently being piloted with 30 students in Haryana and Delhi, the initiative is set to expand nationwide.

Galgotias University hosted a session by Gautam Khazanchi, Special Public Prosecutor for the National Investigation Agency, on bail jurisprudence, constitutional safeguards under Article 22, and emerging challenges in India’s criminal justice system.

Woxsen University’s School of Architecture and Planning, in collaboration with National Association of Students of Architecture (NASA India), hosted the 68th Annual NASA Convention. Abhinav Mallappa Radder, Abhishek Gowda M.S., Madhan M.S., and Rekha S., students from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at East Point College of Engineering and Technology, Bengaluru, have developed and successfully tested a prototype of an IoT-based wearable Smart Women Security System to enable real-time emergency alerts and enhance women’s personal safety.

IIM Kashipur concluded its International Conference on Business Management 2026, focused on innovation, digital transformation, resilience, and AI. Speakers included Prof. Satish Nambisan, Professor, Western Reserve University, the U.S.;  Prof. Venkatesh Shankar, Southern Methodist University, the U.S.; Prof. K. Sivakumar, Lehigh University, the U.S.; Prof. Frank T. Smiling Tree launched a collaborative programme with colleges and educational institutions to maintain and protect residential parks, community gardens, and urban green spaces in Delhi, while promoting awareness and student participation in sustainable green space management amid rising temperatures.

Target Learning Ventures conducted a workshop in Dombivli, Mumbai, for 50 teachers (pre-primary to Class 10) on Cyber Safety of Children and the Role of Educators. Led by retired Mumbai Additional Commissioner of Police Shirish Inamdar, the session covered responsible social media use, emerging cybercrimes, online abuse, and relevant legal provisions.

The Graduate Management Admission Council has introduced GMAT Superscore, which will combine candidates’ best section scores across multiple attempts. Set to launch in August, it will appear in MBA.com accounts and be included in official score reports sent to programmes.

Appointments

Senior Professor Sulochana Shekhar has assumed charge as the Vice-Chancellor of the Central University of Tamil Nadu.

Prof. Rishikesha T. Krishnan has been appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of Ashoka University. He has served as director of IIM Indore and IIM Bangalore and will succeed Prof. Somak Raychaudhary.

Shailesh Rastogi has been appointed as the Director of Badruka School of Management, Hyderabad. He was earlier Director of Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM), Nagpur.

Research

Prof. Pranab Kumar Ghosh of IIT Guwahati’s Civil Engineering Department, along with research scholar Sreekanth Yadav Golla, has developed a biological method using sulphate-reducing bacteria to remove lead from acidic industrial wastewater. The study was published in the Journal of Environmental Chemical Engineering.

Prof. Sunipa Bhattacharyya of NIT Rourkela’s Ceramic Engineering Department, along with researchers Susant Mohapatra and Sourav Ranjan Satpathy, has developed a water-based ceramic adsorbent using fly ash, Ground Granulated Blast-Furnace Slag, and kaolin clay to remove dye pollutants from industrial wastewater. The study was published in Chemistry Select. 

Researchers at Nagaland University have highlighted how traditional knowledge supports terrace farming practices among the Angami Naga community aligns with sustainable agriculture and food security. The findings were published in a SAGE journal.

Prestige University Indore’s campus was declared the Jury Winner at the 2026 Architizer A+ Awards in the Higher Education and Research Facilities category.

Embassy Academy was named Trusted and Futuristic School of the Year 2026 – Karnataka under the Quality Education, Excellent Administration and Infrastructure category, and received the award for Excellence in Educational Standards Adaptability and Implementation, at the India Elite Education and Institutional Excellence Awards and Conference 2026.

Souvik Ghosh, a final-year MS by Research student at IIIT Hyderabad, was featured in the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia 2026 for Cognitii, his AI-powered startup.

In the IIRF India Rankings 2026, Birla Global University ranked 71 in The New Age Private University-Overall category, and third in the state (Odisha). BGU’s constituent institutions were also ranked. The Birla School of Law (BsoL) was ranked 49 within the category of Law (Private), with State Rank 2. The Birla School of Management (BsoM) was ranked 81within Private B-Schools with State Rank 6. The Birla School of Engineering & Technology (BsoET) was ranked 53among the Best Engineering Colleges within Private Universities with Zone Rank 10 and State Rank 4.

The University of Warwick, the U.K., was named the top university in the Midlands and ranked seventh in the country in theComplete University Guide 2027.

UNSW Sydney was ranked first in Australia and 19 globally in the 2027 Quacquarelli Symonds World University Rankings. Shoolini University was ranked 452 in the world and 10 in India (Overall).

ESCP Business School’s Master in Finance programme ranked first globally in the 2026 Financial Times ranking of the top 70 Masters in Finance pre-experience programmes.

Collaborations

UPES has partnered with Harvard Business Impact to enhance experiential, case-based learning for Management students, building skills in analysis, leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving. The institution has also joined hands with Google Cloud to launch an AI Campus and establish a Google Center of Excellence, integrating AI, cloud computing, and automation across academics and research.

Prestige University Indore has partnered with IACT College, Malaysia, to offer UG students a week-long international immersion programme focused on digital content creation, storytelling, media practice, and modern communication technologies.

Queen Elizabeth’s Global Schools has signed an MoU with the Royal Northern College of Music, the U.K., to collaborate on music and performing arts education, student enrichment, performances, and university guidance opportunities.

BITS Pilani has partnered with Axis Bank to set up the Axis Bank-BITS Industry Research, Technology and Innovation Park at its Hyderabad campus. The focus will be on life sciences, biopharma, healthcare, and medical devices to advance innovation and affordable healthcare solutions.

QS Quacquarelli Symonds has signed an MoU with Primus Partners to collaborate on consulting and advisory initiatives aimed at strengthening India’s education and skilling ecosystem.

Rayat Bahra University’s Entrepreneurship and Startup Support Cell has partnered with Shukra Pharmaceuticals to offer ₹10 lakh in seed funding along with incubation support and mentorship for student start-ups in healthcare, pharma, med-tech, agriculture, and biotechnology.

The University of Leeds, the U.K., has signed an MoU with the Public Health Foundation of India to strengthen collaboration in public health research, education, and joint academic initiatives.

ByteXL has partnered with KPMG India to develop and scale skill-building and industry certification programmes for UG and PG students.

Vignana Jyothi Institute of Management, Hyderabad, has signed an MoU with the Singapore Institute of Management to enhance Management education through faculty exchanges, joint research, expert-led masterclasses, and collaborative research projects.

Nothing signed MoUs with IIT Roorkee and the Foundation for Science, Innovation and Development (FSID), IISc-Bangalore, to strengthen India’s deep-tech ecosystem through mentorship, expert lectures, industry case studies, and knowledge-sharing in entrepreneurship, product engineering, and electronic design.

Shiksha Nation has partnered with Singapore-based LifeVitae to introduce its assessment framework in India. Based on the UN-WHO life skills framework, it evaluates real-world behaviours and experiences to assess individuals’ competencies, strengths, and future potential, going beyond traditional psychometric tests.

St. Peter’s Edu School, Warangal has partnered with Sambhuti Learning to implement AI-powered teaching solutions aimed at improving classroom effectiveness and support teachers with tools for lesson planning, assessments, and personalised learning, while enhancing overall student learning outcomes.

The Cloud Native Computing Foundation, and Linux Foundation Education have partnered with Udemy to integrate cloud native training and certification pathways onto the Udemy platform. The new offering includes bundles for the Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD), Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS), and Cloud Native Platform Engineer (CNPE).
