The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Tuesday (June 23, 2026) declared the results of the Common University Entrance Test-Undergraduate (CUET-UG), which was conducted from May 11 to May 31, and on June 6 and June 7. The examination was held across 321 cities, including 13 centres outside India.

One candidate secured a 100 percentile score in four out of five opted subjects, while 22 candidates scored 100 percentile in three subjects, 180 candidates scored 100 percentile in two subjects, and 3,214 candidates scored 100 percentile in one subject, the NTA said in a statement.

The test was conducted in computer-based mode, and candidates were allowed to choose up to five subjects, depending on the subject-specific requirements of their preferred colleges or universities.

A total of 15,68,867 candidates registered for the test, of whom 11,64,098 appeared.

Of the 7,74,607 registered female candidates, 5,85,596 appeared for the examination, while 5,78,500 of the 7,94,257 registered male candidates appeared. The NTA noted that there was an increase of over 15% in the total number of registered candidates and approximately 20% in the number of female candidates.

Of the three registered third-gender candidates, two appeared for the examination. Meanwhile, 3,894 of the 5,033 registered Persons with Benchmark Disabilities or Persons with Disabilities candidates appeared for the test.

Across social categories, 67,859 EWS candidates, 4,98,652 General candidates, 4,01,471 OBC (NCL) candidates, 1,28,871 SC candidates and 67,245 ST candidates appeared for the examination. A majority of the candidates appeared in the English medium, followed by Hindi, the NTA said.

The NTA said the results would be shared with the universities and advised candidates to remain in touch with their respective universities and institutions for further details.

It added that the results had been prepared on the basis of the final answer keys vetted by subject experts and were declared on Tuesday.

“The result declaration timeline is substantially streamlined, enabling the declaration of results within 16 days of the examination’s completion, representing a reduction of 14 days compared to the previous cycle,” the NTA said.

The NTA said on X, “Students can access their scorecard by logging in through the official CUET website using their credentials.”

This year, technical difficulties at some centres led to a retest on June 6 and June 7. Since 2022, the entrance examination has been mandatory for admission to undergraduate programmes in Central universities and is also used by some State and private universities, replacing the earlier system of relying on board examination marks or universities conducting their own entrance tests.
