The Telangana Government Doctors’ Association (TGGDA) expressed concern over the delay in the ongoing transfer process in the Medical and Health Department and objected to attempts to frame separate guidelines allegedly deviating from the provisions of G.O. Ms. No. 38.
The GO was issued by the Finance Department in April which set down the rules and guidelines for general transfers and postings of government employees in the State.
Addressing the media at the Directorate of Medical Education (DME) office in Koti on Thursday, TGGDA members said that transfers should be conducted strictly in accordance with the GO without any alterations, selective implementation or deviation from the notified guidelines.
TGGDA representatives stated that many doctors who have been waiting for transfers for several years were already facing disappointment and uncertainty. They urged senior officials in the Health Department not to delay the process further by introducing new interpretations and additional conditions beyond the existing guidelines.
Founder president of TGGDA B. Ramesh said that the association was demanding that a minimum two-year eligibility criterion be implemented for request transfers. “Doctors working in rural areas should not be subjected to mandatory transfers unless they voluntarily opt for relocation or another doctor voluntarily chooses that posting,” he said.
The association further demanded that the transfer process be conducted through offline or physical counselling to ensure transparency and fairness. The association urged the government to complete the transfer process immediately with clarity and transparency while strictly adhering to the GO, warning that deviations could lead to unrest and dissatisfaction among doctors.
