The Tirupati police recovered 500 stolen mobile phones worth ₹1 crore through the CEIR portal and handed them over to the owners as part of the 14th phase of the ‘Mobile Recovery Mela.’
A total of 4,785 mobile phones worth ₹10.52 crore were recovered and handed over to the victims in the past 13 phases, said Superintendent of Police L. Subbarayudu during a press conference organized at the District Police Office in Tirupati on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.
He said, “In the present times, mobile phones have become a vital part of everyone’s life. Keeping in mind the difficulties faced by people when they lose phones, CEIR services have been introduced to enable them to register an online complaint from home and get their phones back.”
The district police track and recover mobile phones not only from Andhra Pradesh but also from Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Maharashtra and handover them to the victims,” the SP said.
He said that those who have lost their mobile phones can easily get the CEIR link by sending a message saying “Hi” to the WhatsApp number 9490617873 to avail CEIR services.
