NLC India Limited (NLCIL) has inked a memorandum of understanding with Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad, for exploration in critical and strategic minerals and research.
The MoU was signed by I.S. Jasper Rose, Executive Director (Mines and Land), NLCIL and Dheeraj Kumar, Deputy Director, IIT (ISM), Dhanbad and Director, TEXMin (Technology Innovation Hub), in the presence of NLCIL Chairman and Managing Director Prasanna Kumar Motupalli and D.K. Singh, Chairman, Committee on Critical Minerals in Neyveli on Tuesday.
According to a press note, the collaboration with IIT (ISM) TEXMin is expected to strengthen research and technological capabilities in the areas of critical mineral exploration, beneficiation and extraction technologies. TEXMin is engaged in advanced research and technology development in mining and mineral sectors, with focus on critical mineral exploration, beneficiation and extraction technologies.
The partnership will provide a strong platform for both organisations to jointly undertake research, technology development and knowledge sharing in emerging areas of strategic mining resource development, NLCIL said.
According to Mr. Motupalli, “The partnership with TEXMin reflects NLCIL’s commitment towards innovation-driven resource development and sustainable mining practices. The collaboration would help accelerate research and technological advancements in critical mining exploration and beneficiation.”
