The special train services between Kalaburagi and Bengaluru Cantonment have been regularised as permanent weekly trains in response to passenger demand, according to a release issued by the Solapur Division of the Central Railway.

The services, which were earlier operated as special trains, will now run with regular train numbers, ensuring assured connectivity and improved travel planning for passengers throughout the year.

According to railway officials, the move is expected to benefit passengers travelling between important commercial, educational, pilgrimage and healthcare centres across Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.

The services will particularly improve rail connectivity for passengers from Kalaburagi, Shahabad and Wadi stations of Solapur Division to Bengaluru and intermediate stations.

The trains are expected to cater to students, working professionals, business travellers, pilgrims and families travelling between the Kalyana Karnataka region and Bengaluru.

The services will also improve accessibility to major junctions such as Guntakal, Raichur and Dharmavaram.

Train No 06207 Bengaluru Cantonment-Kalaburagi Weekly Special will be regularised as Train No 16563 Bengaluru Cantonment-Kalaburagi Weekly starting May 16.

Similarly, Train No 06208 Kalaburagi-Bengaluru Cantonment Weekly Special will be regularised as Train No 16564 Kalaburagi-Bengaluru Cantonment Weekly starting May 17.

Train No 16563 Bengaluru Cantonment-Kalaburagi Weekly will leave Bengaluru Cantonment at 10 p.m. every Saturday and reach Kalaburagi at 10.20 a.m. the next day.

In the return direction, Train No 16564 Kalaburagi-Bengaluru Cantonment Weekly will leave Kalaburagi at 11.20 a.m. every Sunday and arrive at Bengaluru Cantonment at 11 p.m. the same day.

The trains will halt at Shahabad, Wadi, Yadgir, Krishna, Raichur, Mantralayam Road, Adoni, Guntakal, Anantapur, Dharmavaram, Hindupur and Yelahanka stations en route.

The train will comprise 16 Sleeper Class coaches, four General Second Class coaches and two luggage-cum-brake vans.

Railway authorities said that reservations for the regularised weekly trains will be available at all computerised reservation centres and through the IRCTC website. Bookings for unreserved coaches can also be made through station booking counters and the RailOne app.

Passengers have been advised to travel with valid tickets to avoid inconvenience, according to a release from Senior Publicity Inspector, Solapur Division, S. Vikram A.K.
