Tippannappa Kamaknur, MLC, while addressing a press conference in Yadgir on Saturday, said that under his leadership, the Congress party’s workers will visit every citizen’s house to create awareness about the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) and guide them regarding the proper information to provide to the officers during the process.

Mr. Kamaknur, who was appointed as the person in charge of the Yadgir district for the SIR process, said that the BJP has planned to delete voters from the list in the name of the SIR. The Congress party will guide voters in providing details and submitting documents to ensure that no genuine voter is deleted.

He said that the BJP’s next target is Karnataka after West Bengal, where they defeated a long-standing Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, by deleting several lakhs of voters, but their plan won’t get results here in Karnataka for what they gained in West Bengal.

When questioned about his induction into the State Cabinet in the next phase of the expansion, Mr. Kamaknur said that the Kabbaliga Koli community has the highest number of voters in the Kalyan Karnataka region, including Kalaburagi and Yadgir. Thus, the community wouldn’t want injustice to be done to them. He requested that the party give a chance to the community by representing them in the State Cabinet.

He also said that most loyal party leaders in the Yadgir district will be recognised by the Congress in the future by giving them a chance to serve the people.

Basareddy Malipatil Anapur, president of the Yadgir District Congress Committee, who was also present at the press conference, said that the Union government has ruined the future of lakhs of students who appeared for the NEET examination.

“With improper management in conducting fair and proper examinations, the Centre failed to protect the interests of the students. Therefore, innocent students have lost their lives after being unable to bear the hardship when question papers were leaked, and for that purpose, the re-examinations were conducted,” he said.

The Congress party has planned to conduct a nationwide student protest, ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’, between June 25 and August 09, demanding that Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resign, by holding him responsible for the incident, Mr. Anapur said.

During the student protest, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi will take part in Patna, Prayagraj, and Delhi and meet the students directly, he said.
