The Career Guidance and Counselling Centre for the benefit of Plus Two students has been inaugurated at the Thoothukudi Collectorate.
District Collector Vishu Mahajan, who inaugurated the Centre on Tuesday, said 18,568 of the 19,095 students appeared for the Plus Two public examination in the district had passed. While this Centre would guide the successful students in pursuing their higher education based on their area of interest, others would be given due counselling and guidance as well to clear the exams in which they failed.
While a special cell had been created in each school under the headmaster concerned to help the students fill-up applications for higher education, similar assistance would be extended in the ‘Career Guidance and Counselling Centre’ also. The Centre being manned by experts would also clarify the doubts of the students about their higher education, particularly in engineering stream.

“If the parents cannot financially afford to the higher education of their children, the Centre will guide them to get educational loans also,” Mr. Vishu Mahajan said.
