The Centre for Heritage, Environment and Development (C-HED) has been adjudged winner of the Bhoomimithra Award instituted by the Association of Environmental Protection, Aluva.
The award will be presented at a function to be held at St. Xavier’s College for Women, Aluva, on June 5, the World Environment Day, The jury headed by N. Madhu, former Principal, School of Engineering, Cochin University of Science and Technology, took the decision unanimously in recognition of C-HED’s “distinguished and dedicated contributions in the fields of cultural preservation and environmental protection”.
The innovative approach adopted by C-HED in integrating heritage conservation with sustainable urban development, along with its consistent community outreach programmes, has set a remarkable example for other civic bodies in the State, a statement issued by the association said here.
The Bhoomimithra Award was instituted by the association in 1997 to honour individuals and institutions that demonstrate outstanding commitment in nurturing and protecting the environment.
