A 48-year-old woman was found murdered in Chevella on Wednesday (May 27, 2026), with unidentified assailants chopping off her feet to steal silver anklets.
The victim was identified as Erukali Maisamma, a resident of Dharmasagar village. Her body was discovered lying in a pool of blood on government land near Erlapally village along the Chevella-Shankarpally road on Wednesday afternoon.
Police suspect that the unidentified attackers stabbed her before severing both her feet near the ankles to remove the silver ornaments she was wearing.
Upon receiving the information, the police along with the Clues Team went to the spot. The body was shifted to postmortem examination. A case has been booked and special teams formed to trace the accused.
