A 60-year-old man, who was being taken in an ambulance, died after a milk vehicle collided with it in Sivaganga here on Wednesday.
Police said, Malairajan, 60, a bakery owner and a native of Thendral Nagar in Kalayarkoil, sustained injuries when he suddenly fell down while he was riding a two-wheeler near Kayanodai on Wednesday morning.
Passersby rescued him and admitted him to a private hospital in Kalayarkoil.
Later, he was taken to a private hospital in Madurai via an ambulance for advanced treatment. When the vehicle reached Madurai Mukku area in Sivaganga, a milk vehicle collided with the ambulance.
In this impact, Malairajan, who was already being taken for treatment, suffered severe injuries. He was rescued and taken to a private hospital in Madurai in another ambulance.
However, he died on the way. The Sivaganga Town Police are investigating this incident.
