Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu foresees reverse migration to the North Andhra region following significant developmental initiatives taken up in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, and Anakapalli districts.

The relentless efforts of the NDA government to ensure overall development of Andhra Pradesh would soon bear fruit, Mr. Naidu said on Saturday, adding that the State had in the last two years attracted investments worth ₹23 lakh crore with a potential to create direct and indirect employment opportunities to 24 lakh people.

The Chief Minister was addressing a public meeting during the Swarna Andhra-Swachh Andhra programme at Narasannapeta in Srikakulam district.

The Google data centre in Visakhapatnam, the ArcelorMittal/Nippon Steel (AM/NS) India’s factory in Anakapalli district and GMR Group’s international airport at Bhogapuram in Vizianagaram district would spur economic activity and general employment opportunities in the North Andhra region, the Chief Minister said. “People used to migrate to other places due to non-availability of job opportunities locally. Reverse migration will soon start in the State,” he added.

Coming down heavily on the previous YSRCP government, Mr. Naidu, while terming it as “goddali party” (symbolically equating it to an axe, or destruction), said it had neglected the development of the State between 2019 and 2024.

“The party had looted natural resources and damaged the brand image of Andhra Pradesh. Now, we are trying to rebuild the State with a vision. It will get back its glory very soon. People should reject the YSRCP permanently. If the party is voted to power again, it will create unrest in the State and drive a wedge between people in the name of religion, caste and region,” Mr. Naidu said.

The Chief Minister promised to develop Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts by focusing on completion of irrigation projects such as Madduvalasa Phase-2, Vamsadhara Phase-2, Hiramandalam Lift, distributary network for Thotapalli, and Jhanjavati project by 2027.

Efforts would be made to complete the Neradi project being constructed across the Vamsadhara river in the next three years, he said.

The Chief Minister also promised to develop Narasannapeta town by providing road connectivity to the National Highway-5 at an estimated cost of ₹15 crore.

Union Minister for Civil Aviation K. Rammohan Naidu, and State Ministers Kondapalli Srinivas (MSME) and K. Atchannaidu (Agriculture) were among others present.
