A bid to sell a valuable parcel of land in the fast-growing Kokapet-Narsingi corridor using allegedly forged ownership documents was foiled by Narsingi police, who arrested four persons and seized fabricated property records.

The case was registered on June 20 after a Kokapet resident complained that a group of individuals was attempting to sell a plot in Brindavan Colony, Narsingi village, by producing forged documents to claim ownership.

During the investigation, police took four accused into custody and seized a suspicious sale deed along with other property-related records that are now being examined as part of the probe.

The arrested accused were identified as Makineni Siva Sankara Prasad, 74, of Vijayawada; Kammela Srinivasa Rao, 58, of Tenali in Guntur district; Nallam Adinarayana, 60, of Kukatpally; and Majji Naresh, 43, of Vijayawada.

According to investigators, the accused allegedly attempted to market the land to prospective buyers by creating and using fabricated documents that falsely projected ownership rights over the property.

Police said the case highlights the growing risks surrounding land transactions in rapidly developing areas around Hyderabad, where soaring land values have increasingly attracted document fraud and ownership disputes.

One more accused is absconding and efforts are underway to trace and arrest him. Investigators are also carrying out technical and legal verification of the seized records to determine how the documents were created and whether additional persons were involved in the alleged conspiracy.

The accused were produced before a court and remanded to judicial custody.

Police have advised prospective buyers to thoroughly verify ownership documents through Revenue and Registration Department records before purchasing land or property, particularly in high-value growth corridors where fraudulent transactions are more likely to occur.
