In a twist to the April 13 theft of 122 sovereigns of gold jewellery from the residence of A. Kadarkarai Raj, the DMK candidate for the Sattur Assembly constituency, the police have arrested his estranged elder daughter-in-law, Abhinaya, and a couple of others.
Twelve sovereigns of the stolen property have been recovered from them.
