Dindigul and Theni districts on Thursday and Friday recorded an average of light to moderate rain.

Dindigul district recorded an average rainfall of 35.71 mm. Dindigul recorded 42 mm, Dindigul West 35, Natham 31.50 mm, Nilakottai 54.20 mm, Oddanchatram 14.20 mm, Vedasandur 57 mm, Palani 55 mm and Kodaikanal: Rose Garden 4.60 mm and Bryant park 6.24 mm.

Theni district recorded an average rainfall of 13.26 mm. Andipatti recorded 6.8 mm, Theni 16.6 mm, Periyakulam 73 mm, Bodinayakanur 26.2 mm and Uthamapalayam 17.6 mm.

The railway authorities cleared the rocks that had fallen on the tracks between Ambathurai and Kodaikanal road. The rocks had rolled onto the tracks due to heavy overnight rain on Thursday. Operation was underway to clear the rocks from the railway line from the early hours of Thursday. More than 50 railway employees were engaged in the operation.

Operations of several trains were delayed as a result. After the rocks were cleared, normal operations resumed.
