Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has announced a one-time incentive of ₹30,000 for the third child and ₹40,000 for the fourth as part of the government’s endeavour to encourage population growth.
“Population is the real wealth in the future. The incentives are a part of the new population management policy that aims to encourage population growth, as the State’s development is possible only with availability of human resources,” Mr. Naidu said while addressing the Swarna Andhra - Swachh Andhra programme at Narasannapeta in Srikakulam district on Saturday.
The Chief Minister also hinted at enhancing the financial assistance being paid under Thalliki Vandanam scheme (presently 15,000 per child) that aimed at encouraging parents to send their children to school.
Mr. Naidu appealed to the people to give utmost priority to cleanliness and avoid usage of plastics in day-to- day life. He hinted at banning the single-use plastic that turned into a menace.

The Chief Minister later interacted with sanitation workers and requested them to take care of their health during the cleanliness drive.
The Chief Minister also observed the functioning of a plastic bailing machine and recycling of plastic wastage, where he was informed that segregation of plastic waste become easy with the availability of new technology.
Mr. Naidu congratulated Srikakulam District Collector Swapnil Dinakar Pundkar for taking several initiatives under the Swarna Andhra - Swachh Andhra programme.
The Chief Minister visited ‘Abhayam’ helmet bank stall, where Superintendent of Police K.V. Maheswara Reddy explained the steps being taken to reduce road accidents in the district.
Mr. Reddy said the Police Department would provide helmets to the motorists, which the beneficiary should return upon buying a new one in 48 hours.

Mr. Naidu sprang a pleasant surprise when he wore a helmet and rode a Royal Enfield vehicle, and reminisced his college days when he used to ride the vehicle.
The Chief Minister’s convoy was confined to four vehicles during the Narasannapeta tour, thanks to the Prime Minister’s call for conservation of fuel. Many public representatives, including Union Minister for Civil Aviation K. Rammohan Naidu, followed the suit and reduced the number of vehicles in their convoy.
