Eleven rowdy sheeters tested positive for ganja use during a special drug-testing drive carried out by the Cyberabad Enforcement teams along with law and order police across the commissionerate on Wednesday.
A total of 128 known offenders were subjected to testing during the operation, of whom 11 tested positive for ganja consumption while 117 were negative results.
The highest number of positives was recorded in Serilingampally zone, where six of the 44 individuals tested were found to have consumed ganja. In Quthbullapur zone, four out of 59 tested positive, while Kukatpally zone reported one positive case among 25 individuals screened.
Police officials said the exercise reflects continued vigilance in monitoring habitual offenders and identifying substance abuse patterns among them. Legal action is being initiated against those who tested positive, along with counselling and monitoring as follow-up measures.
