Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed officials to ensure that the design and facilities at the upcoming Bharat Future City should be of global standards and there should be no compromise in this regard.

The designs should be modelled on the Net Zero city based on a comprehensive study and understanding of the facilities offered in the cities of international reputation. Officials should prioritise creation of trunk infrastructure following which allotment of land for industries as well as infrastructure can be taken up.

The Chief Minister gave the instructions during a meeting on the land allotment of industrial development in Future City with senior officials on Wednesday. He directed the Industries and Infrastructure department officials to spare no effort in attracting firms with global reputation to the Future City.

He wanted an exclusive cell “Invest Telangana” to be created for attracting investments and officials should prepare an attractive logo and website in this direction. A special unit or office should be set up to scout for and attract investments. Accordingly, an escort officer system should be put in place to hold negotiations with the firms willing to invest in the future city and an official not less than Group-I officer should be nominated for the purpose.

Mr. Revanth Reddy was firm that foundation stones for industries interested to set up their ventures were laid in June and wanted officials concerned to strive in this direction. “Rules should be made in such a manner that it should be made mandatory for the industries to start construction of their units immediately after allotment of land,” he said.

He announced the government’s resolve to allot 500 acres for public representatives, civil services officers and journalists in the future city. Steps should be initiated to ensure that the Health Cluster announced by the Central Government was sanctioned to the future city. “We will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi if need be seeking allotment to health cluster to the Future City,” he said.

The Chief Minister directed the officials to study Gujarat and Tamil Nadu models for attracting investments to the State. Simultaneously, they should commence work on acquisition of land required for facilitating the operation of bullet trains sanctioned to the State. Steps should be initiated for establishing a data city in 1,500 acres and plans should be prepared for setting up STP for their use.

Officials were directed to identify lands near roads leading to Karimnagar, Warangal and Vijayawada, for setting up global capability centres and data centres. At the same time, a policy aimed at promoting GCCs in the Tier II cities should be formulated. Mr. Revanth Reddy directed the officials concerned to take steps to connect all the government offices to T-Fiber network and set a deadline of three months for completing the work.
