In the aftermath of the tragic wall collapse at Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital in east Bengaluru’s Shivajinagar, the Karnataka Pragatipara Beedhi Vyaparigala Sangha has written to the Chief Minister, seeking enhanced compensation and rehabilitation measures for the affected.
They have also sought a judicial inquiry into the incident that claimed seven lives and left several injured. The union has demanded that compensation for the deceased families be increased from ₹5 lakh to ₹25 lakh, citing the severity of the loss and the precarious economic condition of the affected families. For those injured in the incident, the union has sought compensation of ₹10 lakh per person, stressing that it will take months for them to recover and resume work.
