Power cuts to hit several areas in Bengaluru on June 20

Many areas in Bengaluru are likely to face power cuts and disruptions on June 20, Saturday, due to maintenance and infrastructure-related work by Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL). On June 19, Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM) issued an alert so that people are prepared to face seven hours of power disruption across the city.  

The list of areas that will be affected includes Central Business District, residential areas across the city and areas housing IT companies.  

There will be power supply interruption from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Residency Road, Hondai RMU, Lavelle Road, Walton Road, Vittal Mallya Road, Church Street, Kasturba Road, M.G. Road, St. Marks Road, Residency Road Cross, Queens Circle, ITC Hotel, and surrounding areas due to maintenance work of 66/11 KV Master Unit Sub Station taken up by KPTCL.

Power will be disrupted from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Bharath Layout, behind Patalamma temple, Happy Valley Layout, Vinayaka Layout, Uttarahalli, Appaiah Swamy Layout, Vaddaraplaya area, Banashankari 5th stage, Poorna Prajna Layout, Mantri Alphine, Dwarka Nagar, Banashankari 6th stage, 80 feet Road, Srinagara, Hosakerehalli, Veerbhadra Nagara, Bank Colony, NTY Layout, Thyagaraja Nagar, Basavanagudi, BSK 3rd stage, Kathriguppe, Girinagar 4th Phase, ITI Layout, 100 ft Ring Road, Kamakya, and surrounding sub-station. This is due to maintenance work taken up by KPTCL at 66/11 kv Rajarajeshwarinagar and Banashanakari sub-station. 

There will be power cuts in Domlur 2nd Stage, Kodihalli, Domlur village, Yogananda Layout, Paramahamsa Road, Doopanahalli, HAL 2nd Stage (up to 6th Main), ESI Hospital, 100 Feet Road, Salarpuria Tech Park, JRR Layout, Diamond District, and surrounding areas from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. due to fourth quarterly maintenance of switchgears by KPTCL. 

Jogupalya Main Road, Ranka Court, Artillery Road ,Gowthampura, Cambridge Road, RMZ Millenia, Halasuru, Trinity Circle, Indiranagar 1st stage, HAL 2nd stage, Old Madras Road, Benniganahalli, A. Narayanapura, B. Narayanapura, Kaggadasapura, East of NGEF Layout, Kasturinagar, Bhuvaneshwari Nagar, Varthur Road, and other areas will also witness power cuts. 

Due to transformer maintanence work, power supply will be interupted from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Capgemini, iGate Circle, Kundalahalli Main Road, Graphite Circle, RMZ Next, and surrounding areas.

In order to carry out the periodic maintenance work of transformer bays, Hebbal Kempapura, Vinayaka Layout, Chiranjeevi Layout, Chamundeshwari Layout, Royal Enclave, Mestri Palya, Thanisandra, and surrounding areas will witness power cuts from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Consumers in Ramaiah hospital, Pipe Line road, MSR Nagar, BEL Road, AGS Layout, BEL Road, ISRO, and Dollars Colony will also be affected.
